Karan Bilimoria, the NRI entrepreneur, who came up with his "Cobra" brand of beer in 2012 will launch canned beer in India in 2015. Bilimoria, is a member of House of Lords has planned to produce canned beer from the plant at Bihta in the state of Bihar.
Lord Bilimoria, who was a guest of honor at the British Chamber of Commerce annual business dinner and whose company set up its brewery owned by Molson Coors Cobra India, as a joint venture of Molson Coors and Cobra Beer, at Bihta, around 40km southwest of Patna, said while interacting with the Bihar
Make in BiharBeer, an alcoholic drink, is usually served chilled and its main consumption period in India is considered to be from April to September when temperature levels are high.
The Bihta-based brewery, after being taken over by Molson Coors Cobra, started functioning from February 2012 with a capacity of 180,000 hectolitres. Since then, the capacity of the brewery has increased to 360,000 hectolitres.
